One job: what do I say — and can they tell I actually looked?
The copy is the easy half. The reason a touch lands is that it opens with something specific, recent, and true about the person reading it: a post they wrote last week, the round they closed last month, the role they just opened, the exec they just hired. This skill pulls that from Crustdata first, then writes around it.
The hook comes before the copy. Always. A beautifully written email built on "I saw you're in fintech" is a template. A blunt three-line email built on "your Tuesday post about the on-call rotation" gets replies. If no real signal exists for a target, say so and offer a different angle — never invent a hook.
