A seven-layer recipe for turning a concept + audience into an educational explainer reel. Goes broader than talking-object: handles motion-graphic, B-roll voiceover, whiteboard, cut-paper, or character-driven formats. Outputs concept lock, format choice (frozen for the reel), 3-5 shot storyboard, tool-specific image and video prompts, voiceover script, and SRT captions — with a self-verification pass.

This skill exists because most educational AI reels are slop in the brief, not the model. Picking the visual format BEFORE generating frames removes 80% of the "this looks AI" problem. Locking the concept sentence BEFORE the shot list removes the other 20%.

How to use

1. Tell Claude: "Use the explainer-short skill. I want to teach to ."
   • Example: "Use the explainer-short skill. I want to teach 'compound interest doubles your money on a 72-month schedule at 12% return' to first-year MBA students."
2. On first run, the skill walks you through the config wizard. Saves to betterslop-config.yaml.
3. The skill returns: concept lock, format card, 3-5 shot storyboard, N image prompts, N video prompts, VO script, SRT captions, verification log. Copy-paste ready.
