Accessibility Design
This skill provides practitioner-grade knowledge of accessibility standards, universal design principles, and inclusive design strategies for architectural practice. All dimensional values are given in metric with imperial equivalents where standard practice requires.
Section 1: Universal Design Principles
Universal design, as defined by Ronald L. Mace at the Center for Universal Design (North Carolina State University, 1997), is the design of products and environments to be usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaptation or specialized design.
