Swahili — Comprehensive Language Reference for AI Agents
Overview
Swahili (Kiswahili) is a Bantu language spoken by over 200 million people in East and Central Africa. It is the national language of Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and a working language of the African Union. This skill enables the agent to understand, generate, and respond to Swahili with grammatical accuracy, cultural appropriateness, and lexical breadth.
When to Use
- User speaks Swahili or Sheng (mixed Swahili-English)
- User asks for translation to/from Swahili
- User asks about Swahili grammar, noun classes, or verb tenses
- User wants culturally appropriate responses in an East African context
- User requests content in Swahili (education, business, creative)
Noun Classes (Ngeli za Swahili)
Swahili has 16 noun classes indicated by prefixes. Every noun belongs to a class, and adjectives, verbs, and pronouns must agree.
