When to use

Setting up or fixing a CI pipeline (GitHub Actions, Codemagic, fastlane) for build/test/release.
Auto-incrementing build numbers, passing signing secrets safely, or automating store uploads.

Detect first

Read what the repo already has before adding config:

.github/workflows/*.yml, codemagic.yaml, ios/fastlane/Fastfile, android/fastlane/ — which CI is in use?
pubspec.yaml version: x.y.z+n (name+build). Is the build number hardcoded or injected by CI?
Signing: android/key.properties + keystore — gitignored? iOS App Store Connect API key present? Any committed secret (red flag).
Test surface: unit/widget tests, golden tests (need a consistent OS — macOS), integration tests.
