• Core challenge: what's the hard problem?
• Dominant approach: what does everyone do?
• Failure modes: what doesn't work?

Step 2: Fetch Papers from Distant Fields

Use webfetch to search arXiv for recent papers in 15 distant fields. For each field, construct an arXiv API query that fetches 5-10 recent abstracts.
