SKILL ON HOW TO WIRE UP OR MODIFY A KICAD SCHEMATIC

For Humans:

This skill for fully wiring up a schematic after initial IC selection, or modifying subcircuits after

You need to give the agent a good idea of the goal/vision for the schematic. Ideally, you need to provide it with as many relevant datasheets as possible so it doesn't have trouble sourcing them.

For Agents:

These are instructions on how to wire up a schematic after initial IC selection. If you were asked to choose/find parts (besides passives, oscillators, or similar) and create symbols, start with that.

This skill is not for selecting specific parts/part numbers, and you shouldn't do so if you weren't asked to.

Save work in place

Resolve the configured schematic from the project root's .backplane.json (project, or explicit schematic); preserve that root and its referenced sheet paths. Save meaningful milestones, including unfinished work, with IPC SaveDocument to the exact edited document. Read back the saved file and show the canonical schematic with viewer_show then verify the viewer and history refer to that saved file; report any mismatch. Preserve <native-filename>.backplane.json companions and existing history. Keep backups/intermediates separate; validate staging outputs and promote them back with a backup before continuing. Never deliver progress only as a final copy or silently rename active sheets. Coordinate one writer per document; label explicitly requested alternate experiments.
