• A reader cannot tell from a table alone what claim it supports
• A structural paper's parameter table lists estimates but not what identifies them or their precision
• A theory paper has no figure making the mechanism or comparative static visible
• Regression tables are wall-to-wall coefficients with significance stars and no economic magnitudes
• Exhibits must fit the ≤50-page IER ceiling and are crowding out the argument

What IER exhibits must do

IER exhibits serve a rigor-leaning, broad audience, so each one must answer a single question and make the economics — not just the statistics — legible. For a theory/structural-tilted journal, the most valuable exhibits are often the ones that make a mechanism or a comparative static visible, and the parameter table that shows the model is disciplined by data.
