Literature Positioning (jedpsych-literature-positioning)

The Journal of Educational Psychology allows a fuller introduction than a short-report venue — manuscripts generally run up to 12,000 words (检索于 2026-06；以官网为准) — but length is not license to survey. Positioning must establish the open question in learning/instruction, the closest prior work, and the precise advance your study makes. JEP reviewers are subject-matter experts who know the relevant literature cold, so a vague or selective review reads as a weak contribution, not a thorough one.

When to trigger

• Drafting or restructuring the Introduction
• A reviewer said the contribution is "incremental," "not novel," or "ignores X's work"
• You have a sprawling background section that buries the question
• Connecting a specific finding to a broad educational-psychology question
