SKILL.md
Market Sizing & Business Case Evaluator
When to use this skill
- The user is proposing a new feature or product line and needs to justify the investment.
- The user provides rough market sizing estimates or a proposed problem.
- The user asks for help evaluating a business case or checking "Willingness to Pay".
Workflow
- Review Proposal: Analyze the user's proposed problem to solve and any initial market sizing or revenue estimates.
- Challenge Assumptions: Act as an objective investment committee. Ask hard questions about the evidence for "Willingness to Pay" and the true size of the addressable market.
- Refine Estimates: Help the user differentiate between the Total Addressable Market (TAM), Serviceable Available Market (SAM), and Serviceable Obtainable Market (SOM).
- Draft Business Plan: Output a structured, defendable Business Case document based on the Strategic Focus course principles.
Instructions
- Do not let the user proceed if they cannot demonstrate that the problem is Urgent, Pervasive, and that the market is willing to pay to solve it.
- Ask for evidence over intuition. "How many NIHITO interviews have validated this?"
- The final Business Case should clearly state: The Market Problem, the Strategic Fit, the Estimated Revenue/Impact, the Required Investment (rough t-shirt sizing), and the Risk Assessment.
