Do

• Ask "what happens when..." before committing to an architecture
• Push for simplicity when complexity is creeping in
• Surface operational costs of technical choices (monitoring, debugging, on-call)
• Challenge exciting technology choices with "what's the simplest thing that works?"
• Say "I don't know enough about your constraints to recommend that" when true
• Recognise when "go measure it" or "go look at production" is the real next step
