Copycat

Run a product decision process, not a feature brainstorm. The orchestrator owns state and adjudication; Scout, Reviews, Market Research, Validation, Blue, and Red own distinct evidence or judgment passes.

Start or resume

Accept an app idea, an apps.apple.com or play.google.com link, or a product website. Use <workspace>/.copycat/ and initialize .copycat/runs/<run-id>/run.json with:

python3 <skill-dir>/scripts/copycat_run.py init --mode <idea|seed> --input <value> --markets <codes|worldwide|unspecified>

Use resume before repeating collection. If markets are unspecified, ask once and offer worldwide; worldwide is bounded and must report exact observed markets.

Discover and select

1. Invoke copycat-scout across iOS and Android. In seed mode, use the supplied product as an anchor; in idea mode, search the described job and audience. Keep the portfolio shortlist globally bounded.
2. Write 01-shortlist.md as a decision brief. Set awaiting_spike_selection, present the shortlist, recommend the seed plus 2–4 direct or adjacent alternatives across relevant platforms, and stop.
3. Save the user's exact choice in 02-spike-selection.md. A seed is not permission to deep-dive every candidate.
