Copycat Validation

Resolve one decision-critical uncertainty with the cheapest honest test. Public research can propose an opportunity; behavioral evidence decides whether it deserves a build.

Design the test

  1. Read the current run.json, market evidence, product profiles, candidate proposal, and Red Team falsifier. Select one assumption whose failure would change the decision.
  2. Choose the least expensive credible method: recent-behavior interview, workflow observation, concierge delivery, prototype task, pricing/deposit test, channel outreach, or bounded technical spike.
  3. Read references/experiment-contract.md and write validation/plan.md. Set success, pivot, and kill thresholds before results exist.
  4. Prepare only the assets needed to run the test: screener, behavior-first questions, task script, recruitment criteria, outreach draft, observation sheet, or result template.
  5. Stop before publishing, outreach, spending, collecting payment, or contacting participants. Ask for explicit approval for the external action, or hand the plan to the user to execute.
