Coordinate the workflow. Delegate design judgment; do not duplicate it here.

Preconditions

Discover host capabilities. Normalize the brief into ../../contracts/design-context.schema.json and validate it with ../../scripts/check-handoff.mjs. Keep unknowns explicit; do not explore directions before validation.

An end-to-end run requires file editing, app execution, and screenshots. If one is unavailable, offer to stop or continue direction-only.

1. Explore directions

Generate at least three unique SeedEnvelope artifacts with ../../scripts/new-seed.mjs and validate them. For each, start a fresh read-only context using ../../agents/direction-scout.md. Give every scout the same validated DesignContext, one envelope, and no other proposal.

Validate each DirectionProposal with ../../scripts/check-handoff.mjs direction <file> --seed <assigned-seed>. On failure, discard it and retry once in a new scout with typed ValidationDiagnostics and the original inputs; stop after a second failure. If contexts cannot be isolated, disclose this and offer one non-independent art-direction pass. Never simulate multiple scouts in one context.

Present the proposals by thesis, consequential differences, risks, and typed media needs. Stop until the human selects one or explicitly requests another exploration round. Do not silently synthesize a hybrid.
