Research Brief
Answer a technical question from the sources that own the answer, and leave a brief someone can check six months from now.
Two failures make research worthless. The first is confident prose with no source behind it. The second is a source that was right when it was read and is wrong now, with nothing in the document to reveal that. Both come from the same missing habit: not writing down where a claim came from and what it was true of.
Every claim in the brief carries its source, that source's tier, and the version or date it was verified against. A claim that cannot carry those does not go in the brief — it goes in Open questions.
The artifact is .research/<YYYY-MM-DD>-<slug>.md.
