Research from Vault

Read the vault first. Capture every finding. Synthesize durable, wikilinked knowledge.

This is the reusable discipline behind vault-backed research and synthesis. It is reached by prose from users or from other skills (agent-loop, /until-done, /teach, domain-modeling, grill-with-docs, decision-mapping Research tickets).

Prerequisites

Read .agent/context/knowledge-vault.md first (fallback: docs/agents/knowledge-vault.md). It contains:

• The configured vault root path
• Learning record and note naming conventions (Title Case, wikilinks, optional numbering)
• PDF / source companion rules
• Indexing and research capture layout

If both paths are missing, ask the user for the vault path (never scan the disk for one) or run /setup-knowledge-vault for the user. If missing and .agent/context/knowledge-vault.example.md exists, ask the user to copy it and fill in their own path; never use the placeholder.
