"Mensarius" viene del latín — referencia a los mensarii, banqueros/money changers en la antigua Roma que operaban bajo reglas éticas específicas.

El oath moderno (govclab):

"I will act with integrity and transparency in my dealings. I will not engage in conflicts of interest without disclosure. I will respect the confidentiality of entrepreneurs' information. I will not solicit investments I would not make myself. I commit to these principles knowing they bind my conduct in all professional dealings."

(Paraphrased; see govclab for authoritative text.)

¿Por qué adoptarlo?

Pros:

Differentiation en crowded VC market ("we hold ourselves to ethical standard")
Signal a founders (many prefer working con ethical investors)
Community marker (part of Mensarius-committed fund network)
Prevention tool (explicit commitments > vague values)

Cons:

Binding — violations damage reputation
Subjective enforcement (who decides if you violated?)
Marketing risk if adopted cynically

Flujo del skill

Paso 1 — Assessment de fit

MO-1: "¿Este studio/fund valora:

Transparencia sobre performance (incluso malos trimestres)
Conflict of interest disclosure
Founder-friendly term sheets
Zero-tolerance para misrepresentation
Skin in the game (invertir personalmente en funds que recomiendas)

Si marcaste 4-5 → Mensarius oath fits. Si <3 → not a natural fit, adopción puede sonar cínica."

Paso 2 — Review del oath

MO-2: "Leer el Mensarius Oath completo (govclab resources). Preguntar:

¿Hay cláusulas que no puedo honestly commitir?
¿Mi operating model tiene conflicts that would violate?
¿Mis GPs están on board (no solo yo)?

Si hay dudas: NO adopt. Better honest non-adoption que cynical adoption."

Paso 3 — Commitment público (opcional)

MO-3: "Si se adopta:

Sign the oath (govclab process)
Publicar en website del studio / fund
Communicate a LPs
Reference en LP updates + reports"
