CKEditor 5 update between versions
This skill updates a project from one CKEditor 5 version to a newer one. After the update, the editor has the same features and the same content, and the browser console is clean. The code follows every change from the update guides between the two versions, not only the version numbers in package.json.
When to apply
Apply this skill when the user wants to update, upgrade, or migrate an existing CKEditor 5 installation. The target can be the latest version or a version that the user names. The skill also covers a move off a legacy installation method and a project that an earlier update left broken.
Do not apply this skill in these cases:
- The project does not have CKEditor 5 yet, or the user wants to configure new features after the update. Use the
ckeditorskill. - The user wants a downgrade.
- The user wants to write custom plugins.
- The user wants to move from CKEditor 4 or from a different editor.
In these cases, tell the user that the request is out of scope. Then stop, or hand the task to the correct skill.
