10-K value-proposition match (fetch the filing outside Clay; match with judgment, not a Clay column)
The insight: a 10-K's primary document routinely runs to hundreds of KB of body
text, but Clay's scrape-website action silently truncates at exactly 8,192
characters, with no truncation flag anywhere in the response (observed and
documented in this kit's own function-surface notes — one output ended mid-string at
exactly that byte count with SUCCESS still reported). A skill that reads a 10-K by
pointing a per-row Clay scrape column at the filing URL will confidently report on
roughly the first two pages of a three-hundred-page document. Separately, Clay's
action catalogue has no question-answering or research-agent action at all —
zero matches across ask / question / answer / research / analyst in the full
catalogue — so "does this document support this claim" has no Clay function to run
on either. Both facts point the same direction: the filing gets fetched with the
installer's own agent, not a Clay action, and the matching is agent judgment, not a
Clay AI column. Clay's real job in this skill is narrow — resolving a company name
to a domain / SEC CIK — and everything downstream of that is the agent's.
