Kill or keep (set the threshold first, then read the number)

The insight: most bad campaigns are not killed because nobody decided in advance what would kill them. Without a threshold written down before the results arrive, every number looks like it might turn around next week, and losers keep sending.

The evidence is the author's own client work. Across 16 outbound engagements run by one agency, 9 ran A/B tests with no kill rule and 8 killed a failing campaign after the data had already said so. Concretely: a variant ran three weeks at a 0.1% reply rate before anyone stopped it; a campaign sent for six weeks with zero positive replies; a test of 50 variations across 5 industries was not pruned until week 8. None of these were hard calls. They were calls nobody had made in advance.

What follows from it: this skill fixes the thresholds at Step 1, before it reads a single result, and then applies them mechanically. It kills rarely on purpose. A campaign that has produced any positive reply and is not chronically below its floor is never killed.
