What is an Agent Skill?

An Agent Skill is a directory containing a SKILL.md file with YAML frontmatter and markdown instructions. It can optionally include scripts, reference documents, and assets. The format is portable across Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, Gemini CLI, and other agent platforms.
