Anomalyx2The code is a chart extractor that parses Office Open XML chart data from a ZIP archive and generates Chart.js HTML. It shows no evidence of malware, data theft, persistence, command execution, or network activity. The main security concern is stored or reflected cross-site scripting in generated HTML: malicious chart content or chart_id values can break out of HTML or JavaScript contexts because escaping is absent, especially the unescaped </script> sequence in JSON. Relationship path handling is also weak, although it operates against ZIP members rather than directly writing to the host filesystem. Validate and safely normalize archive paths, HTML-escape chart_id, and serialize data in a context-safe manner such as escaping HTML script terminators and using safe DOM APIs.
The code appears to be a legitimate shape-to-SVG/HTML converter and contains no evident malware, data exfiltration, backdoor, or sabotage behavior. It does have an injection risk if rendering inputs can be controlled by an attacker: unescaped SVG attribute values, CSS fragments, and custom path data can lead to stored or reflected XSS/SVG/CSS injection in browsers. Validate numeric geometry, restrict colors and style values to safe formats, and HTML/XML/CSS-escape all interpolated values before embedding the result.
