Set Up Video Recording

Build the smallest setup that passes a playback test. Upgrade only to solve a problem the test exposes.

Operate capture tools directly when available. Otherwise, prepare one focused test for the creator and assess the returned clip, screenshots, metadata, or explicit playback observations. Keep the gate open until evidence passes.

1. Establish The Capture

Read the brief and script. Determine which sources are actually needed:

• microphone
• camera or phone camera
• screen
• system or application audio
• secondary camera or device
• practical footage or B-roll

Prefer simultaneous capture on separate tracks. If sources start separately, create a visible and audible sync mark. Decide whether camera, screen, or both carry the proof for each beat.
