For prose that a stranger reads without being paid to. A LinkedIn About section, a blog post announcing a tool, a README, a release note. Not for manuscripts, which are covered by scientific-writing-draft and its dlaub-style.md.

Two reference files hold the evidence this guide is built from. Read the relevant one before drafting, because the verbatim examples are more useful than the rules abstracted from them.
