DevExpress Dashboard Parameters

Dashboard parameters are dynamic values that replace constants in expressions and calculated fields, and that let you filter a SQL data source dynamically. Once a parameter is defined on the Dashboard, you can reference it in SQL queries and stored procedures, data source filters, dashboard item filter strings (?paramName), conditional formatting, calculated fields, and window calculations ([Parameters.paramName]).

Defining and binding a parameter is the same on every platform. Only setting values at runtime and exporting with parameter state differ — this skill routes you to a platform reference for those two.

When to Use This Skill

Use this skill when you need to:

  • Create a DashboardParameter with static values, dynamic values (from a query), or free-form input
  • Configure look-up settings (StaticListLookUpSettings, DynamicListLookUpSettings)
  • Bind a parameter into a filter string, SQL query, stored procedure, calculated field, conditional formatting, or window calculations
  • Set or read parameter values at runtime (platform-specific)
  • Export a dashboard with the user's current parameter values
  • Suppress the Dashboard Parameters dialog and inject values from an HTTP header or user claims
  • Troubleshoot "parameter not filtering" or "dialog not showing"
