Session Recording Analysis

What to Look For

• Rage clicks: Repeated clicks on the same element (broken or confusing)
• Dead clicks: Clicks on non-interactive elements (visual design issue)
• U-turns: Going to a page and immediately going back (wrong destination)
• Long pauses: User stops moving for 5+ seconds (confused or reading)
• Erratic mouse movement: Cursor moving randomly (searching for something)

Analysis Workflow

1. Define the question (what are you trying to learn?)
2. Filter sessions (by page, by behavior, by segment)
3. Watch 15-20 sessions (patterns emerge)
4. Tag issues with severity and frequency
5. Create highlight reel of key moments
