Manage project work
Use Linear for objectives, projects, milestones, issues, priorities, and progress. Use GitHub for repositories, branches, commits, pull requests, reviews, and CI. Link the code artifact to its Linear work rather than create a second backlog. These responsibilities apply to solo and group projects; organization should remain proportional to the work.
1. Locate the work and select the procedure
Read the request, applicable AGENTS.md, and existing work record. Verify the project, Linear destination, and any linked GitHub repository from available evidence. Ask only when a material destination or decision remains ambiguous.
Load only the references needed for this request:
| Need | Reference |
|---|---|
| Define a project or milestone outcome, resolve consequential choices, or revise scope | Planning |
| Triage, select ready work, update progress, handle a blocker, hand off, or close feedback | Tracking |
| Create or revise project instructions, or settle a missing project convention | Project agreements |
| Establish or change domain definitions, or resolve conflicting terminology | Vocabulary |
A status update uses tracking without planning again. An agreements-only request ends with the relevant instruction change, without a milestone or backlog. A defined implementation goes directly to implement; return here only for meaningful coordination. A simple question needs no new Linear issue.
