When to Use

• Creating and opening today's daily note
• Appending journal entries, logs, tasks, or links
• Reading past notes by specific or relative dates
• Searching vault content
• Managing daily note templates

When NOT to Use

• Modifying notes in a vault that's actively synced to cloud (risk of conflicts)
• Operating on vaults with no Daily Notes plugin configured
• Creating notes in unsupported folders (obsidian-cli limited to configured path)
