Produce an evidence-led opportunity memo that connects an existing short video niche to a demonstrable product feature, a bounded creator pilot, and an expand, revise, or stop decision. Start with how people already watch and share content, then design a useful app that belongs inside that behavior. The distribution system should learn across creators and, where appropriate, across products. [S1][S2]
When to use
Use this skill to find a consumer app opportunity, shape a feature for TikTok or Instagram Reels, plan creator tests, diagnose an underperforming launch, or allocate investment across a small app portfolio. It works best when the user's problem can appear as an emotionally recognizable story and the product creates a visible action, interaction, comparison, or result. [S1]
For an existing app, investigate its bottleneck before proposing a replacement. If short video cannot demonstrate its value or reach its intended customer, state that limitation and consider another distribution hypothesis. Treat the interviews as a method to test, not proof of transferable revenue, creator prices, or build speed. Distinguish sourced principles from your operational recommendations and the user's evidence. [S1][S2]
Procedure
-
Frame the decision. Read the scope and evidence rules. Record whether the assignment concerns discovery, launch diagnosis, or portfolio allocation. Capture geography, audience, budget, build capacity, cash constraints, and the decision date. Identify missing inputs without inventing evidence.
-
Map actual content behavior. Follow the niche screen. Gather current public examples with dates and links. Record hooks, emotional tensions, narrative structures, creator types, comments, and brand integrations. Separate observed patterns from attractive ideas that still need validation. [S1]
-
Select a distribution thesis. Use the niche decision rules to compare emotional resonance, ease of recreation, and brand competition. Write one sentence linking audience, repeatable format, and useful product moment. Explain why rejected alternatives fail the screen. [S1]
