CEO Branding and Personal Branding Roadmap

Based on Marina Zayats's public method. Not affiliated with or endorsed by Marina Zayats.

When to use

Use this skill when a CEO, founder, executive, or communication team needs a coherent personal positioning and a sustainable way to express it. It supports a new presence, a positioning refresh, a ghostwriting brief, or recurring editorial planning. For an individual expert, adapt the company objectives and team roles to their situation while retaining the positioning work.

Produce a reviewable package containing a Positionspapier, a Personal Branding Roadmap, profile recommendations, an editorial agenda, draft content, and an approval record. Work from the person's real experience and intended audience. Identify missing inputs instead of filling them with invented achievements, anecdotes, or opinions.

The sourced method connects positioning to useful visibility and relationships. Its CEO operating process uses a positioning session, a strategy session, recurring editorial meetings, and CEO participation for content approval every two weeks. Preserve that cadence separately from the posting frequency. The agent prepares and advises; it does not take over the executive's account.

Procedure

  1. Establish the brief and evidence boundary. Read references/method.md, especially Evidence and scope. Record the requested deliverable, existing approvals, available interviews, current channels, and unanswered questions. Use references/sources.md to distinguish Zayats's statements from agency material and this package's implementation choices. Do not claim access to the complete book.

  2. Audit the current presence. Follow Positioning session in references/method.md. Compare profile, recent posts, speaking presence, and stakeholder feedback with the desired impression. Identify inconsistent promises, overly broad themes, and material that belongs to the company rather than the person. Request feedback where the leader's self-image lacks outside evidence.

  3. Run the positioning session. Use the discovery fields in templates/output-template.md. Establish company objectives, personal objectives, priority stakeholders, their recurring questions, and the executive's contribution. Replace an audience of everyone with a specific group whose decisions matter. Keep personal motivations confidential when requested.
