Documentation is only useful if it's true. Write to match what the code actually does now, and prove it against the source — not against memory.

bento-ship calls this for affected docs before final checks. Return the files updated and the commands/examples verified; the caller owns commits and the rest of the ship flow.

Repo layer first. Read the repo's AGENTS.md/CLAUDE.md and, if it exists, the overlay .agents/bento/bento-docs.md at the repo root; follow it under the overlay rules.
