The code is a conventional in-memory sliding-window rate limiter and contains no apparent malware or deliberate supply-chain attack behavior. It should validate configuration, bound or periodically evict inactive map entries, and ensure proxy/client-IP trust settings prevent spoofing. The unbounded per-IP map can permit memory exhaustion when attackers generate many distinct client IPs or trusted forwarded addresses.
