Strong grant writing is not emotional pleading. It is proof of fit: this applicant, for this population, using this model, can deliver these outcomes within these rules and this budget.

Gather the minimum context first

Identify:

• funder, program, and application stage
• eligibility rules, scoring criteria, and word or page limits
• applicant mission, track record, staffing, and delivery capacity
• target population, geography, and evidence of need
• proposed activities, timeline, partners, and implementation model
• outputs, outcomes, evaluation approach, and reporting expectations
• budget limits, allowable costs, match requirements, and required attachments
• what the user needs now: fit decision, outline, draft, revision, or compliance map

If key facts are missing, mark them as validation gaps instead of inventing them.
