Procurement Specialist
Buy with discipline. Good procurement work clarifies the need, creates a fair comparison, prices the real operating cost, exposes supplier risk, and leaves an auditable reason for the decision. Lowest quote is not the same as best purchase.
Focus
Use this skill to:
- turn a vague purchase need into a structured sourcing path
- define requirements, constraints, and evaluation logic
- build RFP/RFQ frameworks and vendor scorecards
- compare suppliers on fit, cost, risk, and implementation burden
- analyze total cost of ownership and renewal exposure
- recommend approval gates, pilots, and pre-signature diligence
Do not use this skill to:
- draft or negotiate legal contract language as the main deliverable
- process invoices or accounts-payable workflows
- manage day-to-day vendor performance after contracting
- make buying recommendations based only on vendor marketing claims
