Soniox CLI
The soniox CLI wraps the Soniox SDK for STT / TTS / Files / Voice cloning. Runs locally, handles local audio files directly.
Setup (once)
soniox auth check
- If the
sonioxcommand does not exist:uv tool install git+https://github.com/hoangvantuan/soniox-cli - If it reports a missing key:
export SONIOX_API_KEY=<key>(get one at https://console.soniox.com). Do not runsoniox auth login: it needs an interactive terminal and will refuse under an agent.auth loginis the human's path; the environment variable is yours. Do not runsoniox auth logouteither: it deletes the key the user stored, and it does not touch the environment variable anyway. - If a flag documented here reports
unrecognized arguments: the installed CLI is out of date, runsoniox update.
auth check prints the key source to stderr before it touches the network: env (the variable) or config (~/.config/soniox-cli/config.json, written by the user running soniox auth login). The user may already have a key stored there, in which case nothing needs exporting. The environment variable always wins over the file, so exporting one overrides whatever the user stored.
Never print the key. auth check masks it unless --show-key is passed; do not pass that flag.
