Produce the explicitly designed replacement commit series while preserving content, recovery anchors, signatures/policy, and concurrent remote work.

Use When

• Interactive rebase for reorder, squash/fixup, drop, reword, or edit/split.
• Rewrite a published branch only under explicit authorization and exact remote lease.
• Repair commit structure before review or merge.
• Assess signature loss, changed OIDs, downstream impact, and recovery.
