Objective

Replay exactly the intended logical changes onto the target in a verified order without importing unrelated branch history.

Use When

• Cherry-pick one or more exact commits or a reviewed commit range.
• Move a fix committed on the wrong branch to the intended branch.
• Backport selected patches to a maintenance branch.
• Apply a reviewed format-patch/mailbox series with git am, including rerolls, cover letters, sign-offs, and partial application recovery.
• Continue, abort, or assess an empty cherry-pick when the main task is the transplant.
