UI Polish

Polish is a pile of small details that compound. None of them is visible alone; together they are the difference between "fine" and "finished". This skill is the reference for which details are worth having and what values they take.

Scope

This skill owns static visual finish: alignment, radii, shadows, icons, typography usage, and the styling of states (hover, focus-visible, selected, disabled).

Neighbors own the rest. Every duration, easing, and press-feedback value lives in motion; when a rule here needs one, it points there and never restates the number. Token creation and palettes live in design-tokens. Whether a state exists at all is ux-check. Words are ux-writing.

Four contested lines, settled here: the icon census (finding emoji, text glyphs and CSS shapes doing an icon's job, plus dead image URLs) belongs to asset-check; this skill judges how the icons that remain look. text-transform in CSS is this skill, the casing typed into the string is ux-writing. The focus ring and contrast ratios are this skill; semantics, keyboard reach and alt text are ux-check. Values this skill fixes (radii, outline alpha) are defined as tokens by design-tokens; this skill decides where they apply, never hardcodes them into a component. How loud a primary action looks is this skill; how many a screen may carry is ux-check. Truncation styling (that clipped text still has a way to show its full value) is this skill; whether overflow breaks the layout or hides a control is the overflow state in ux-check.

Skills outside this line can own the same ground (better-ui, emil-design-eng, improve-ui carry the same concentric-radius and image-outline rules, from the same source). If one is loaded, follow it and add only what it does not cover. One defect, one finding.
