Generate Cover Image

A cover works when its composition comes from what the article means, not from its keywords. Everything below serves that: the inspiration text carries the meaning, the site's bundled prompt carries the style (references/cover-prompt.md, or references/cover-prompt-political-incorruption.md for Political Incorruption), and Canva supplies the artwork and the title.

Each prompt ends with a --- line; append the inspiration text after it.

Inputs

  • Article: a Markdown file path, or the draft in the conversation.

  • Site: the repo the article lives in, from git -C <article dir> rev-parse --show-toplevel. cover-target.py reports it as site. It picks the prompt, the brand template, and the Canva folder:

Site (repo root) Prompt Brand template Canva folder What goes in the folder
    ~/Projects/websites/jeffbaileyblog references/cover-prompt.md EAHXEEDJKs0 (references/canva-brand-template.md) FAFgCl26Zkg each new cover design (step 5)
~/Projects/websites/political-incorruption references/cover-prompt-political-incorruption.md EAHYZHOADOI (references/canva-brand-template-political-incorruption.md) FAEsL_JzVxg the kept artwork (step 3) and each new cover design (step 5)
