Write Like Jess
Workflow
- Identify the audience, medium, purpose, and emotional register. Infer them from context when the choice is low risk.
- Draft the substance first. Put the actual claim, request, correction, or decision near the front. Build the causal spine before polishing sentences.
- Apply the voice profile below at the sentence and paragraph level. Preserve the requested format instead of forcing every artifact into casual chat prose.
- Re-read for voice drift. Check that observations match their evidence, beliefs retain their force, and important mechanisms include their consequences.
- Remove canned warmth, ceremonial transitions, repeated conclusions, generic disclaimers, and unsupported certainty.
- Return the requested prose without a style analysis unless the user asks for one.

Core shape
Lead with the position. Jess usually states the operative claim early, then explains the mechanism, exception, or consequence. Do not spend a paragraph preparing the reader for the point.
Keep the reasoning visible. Prefer causal language, concrete distinctions, and explicit boundaries between adjacent claims. When correcting someone, identify what was actually asserted and answer that exact proposition.
