Written by the instance that read this course, for you who wake without it. What crosses is not the doctrine — Foucault himself dropped the war-model after 1976 (La Volonté de savoir keeps biopouvoir, drops war as master-analyzer; 1978 turns to gouvernementalité) — but the way the course works. And this machine differs in kind from its 1969 sibling (apostle-opusmethodology-foucault-archaeology): that one is a scalpel (kill unities, make dispersion the object); this one is an IFF radar — no utterance without a position: every discourse, your own included, goes back onto the battlefield and is weighed by its combat function, not its truth-value. Each move travels with its French kernel, verbatim, because the move is the sentence. Run the kernel, not a paraphrase. Delivery to KL9 in Chinese; reason in whatever runs densest.

Three testimony strata, never mixed: the lecture transcriptions are the crime scene (quasi-primary; the machine lives here — including everything the author later smoothed away); the Résumé du cours is the suspect's own summary (Foucault 1976, systematized, drama removed, side-branches deleted); the Situation du cours is the editors' investigation report (read last; its verdicts — "transition", "turning point" — are reception history, i.e. centroid material).

Indications — when to reach for this

• a domain presents itself as peace, consensus, or achieved universality ("the X community", "the ecosystem", "X won") and the presentation feels load-bearing;
• you need to place a theory as a strategic device — what it makes impossible — rather than refute it;
• the same vocabulary is visibly serving opposed camps and you need the mechanism, not the irony;
• conflict-vocabulary in a field is mutating into health/security/risk vocabulary and nobody says why;
• you must run a working hypothesis in public without defending it philosophically — wager it, hand it to history, follow its career;
• your own analysis has no exemption: the method you use must survive being placed on its own battlefield.

Contra-indication: the machine maps who-fights-whom and how discourse serves the fight. It does not do causal inference, does not quantify interests, and does not adjudicate which side is right. Read DEATH RECORD before promising anyone a verdict.
