Performance

Record the property, search type, dates, filters, aggregation level and freshness. Inspect the daily trend and page, query, country and device dimensions. Query rows may be withheld or truncated and need not sum to page totals. CTR is clicks divided by impressions. Compare low-CTR pages with their actual SERP and intent, rather than fixed position benchmarks or promised uplift.

When a change starts, inspect affected segments and check releases, redirects, canonicals, indexing, demand and SERP changes as possible explanations. Correlation is a lead, not proof. Use seo-performance-analysis for aggregate page-level GSC/GA4 comparison.

Indexing and Technical Reports

In Page Indexing, separate intentionally excluded pages from important target pages. Inspect representative URLs for Google's selected canonical, declared canonical, crawl allowance, response, sitemap inclusion and internal links. URL Inspection is the page-level check. Review video indexing, sitemap processing, Core Web Vitals and rich-result issue groups only where relevant; their samples are not exhaustive URL inventories. See Google's data explanation. Disavow is an exceptional action, not a reaction to link count alone.

API and AI Search

Search Analytics exposes date, page, query, country and device dimensions with search type and filters. First verify the requested dates have data. rowLimit is at most 25,000 with startRow pagination; the API also limits daily top rows per search type. Record any truncation and distinguish page from query aggregation. See API reference and limits.

Google's Generative AI performance report covers supported AI Overviews and AI Mode visibility, chiefly impressions. Its preliminary data and dimensions require separate interpretation. A question-keyword regex is not measured AI visibility. Use ai-traffic-tracking for assistant referrals.

Open Analytics v0.1 has a date/page GSC clicks-and-impressions contract, but no executable indexing, query, sitemap or AI-feature contract. For those, read GSC directly and disclose the limitation. Report observations, precise scope, affected pages, alternative explanations and next verification.
