4DX Team XPS Evaluation — Audit a team's execution quality
R — Reading
"There are four components of XPS: 1. Establishing a cadence. 2. Fulfilling high-impact commitments. 3. Optimizing lead-measures performance. 4. Achieving lag-measure (WIG) results. The calculation of your XPS consists simply of identifying the score for each component and then adding them together. Since each component has a maximum score of 1, a perfect score would be 4."
— McChesney et al., Chapter 10: Sustaining 4DX Results and Engagement
"3.6 to 4.0 — High level of execution excellence. 3.2 to 3.59 — Good level of execution, but room for improvement. 2.5 to 3.19 — Fair level of execution, along with areas of concern. 0 to 2.49 — Significant level of concern… a team that in reality is not executing at all."
— McChesney et al., Chapter 10 (XPS interpretation table)
"Note that each component of XPS has a maximum value of 1, so overperformance in any one area cannot mask underperformance in another."
— McChesney et al., Chapter 10 (the no-compensation rule)
"Your XPS on 'Establishing a Cadence' for leaders of leaders should always be 100 percent… Your XPS standard for fulfilling commitments should be 90 percent (or higher)… you should hold frontline teams to the expectation of performing their lead measures at 90 percent (or more) of the target, every week."
— McChesney et al., Chapter 10 (component performance standards)
