Manager Personality Quadrant — Adapt Framing, Not Analysis

R — Reading

The novel split: managers don't adapt their analysis to the audience — they adapt the framing of the same analysis. The 2×2 taxonomy below (Gods / Gamblers / Grinders / Guides) is supporting vocabulary; the load-bearing move is keeping the underlying analysis constant while restyling its surface form for the consumer.

I — Interpretation

Headline contribution (recap). The same scenario-planning artefact, presented unmodified, will be embraced by one executive and rejected by another. The naive response is to redo the analysis. The skilful response is to keep the analysis fixed and restyle its presentation: a decisive recommendation with fallback branches for one consumer, an expected-value table for another, a "5-step framework" wrapper for a third, native plural-futures exploration for a fourth.

Supporting vocabulary — the 2×2 taxonomy. Sherwood proposes a 2×2 to label the four reception styles. The axes: belief about the future (predict-able vs exploration-required) × dominant style (control vs empowerment). The quadrants:
