Disco

Disco turns an Ubuntu 24.04 server you control into a private PaaS: zero-downtime deploys from git push or from a directory, HTTPS via Caddy, env vars, logs, volumes, cron jobs, a web dashboard and a CLI. App traffic goes straight to the server, Disco's own servers only host the dashboard.

Everything below is the disco CLI. For the flags of any command, run disco <command> --help. The full reference: https://disco.cloud/docs/cli/reference/

The loop

  1. The repo has a Dockerfile and a disco.json at its root (see references/disco-json.md).
  2. disco projects:add --name NAME --github USER/REPO creates the project and deploys it.
  3. Every git push deploys again (GitHub sends a webhook to the server).
  4. disco deploy:output --project NAME shows the build and deploy log, disco logs --project NAME the app's logs.

Deploy without GitHub

disco deploy --project NAME --dir .
