Chrome Extension Prospecting
Browser extensions that scrape contact data off LinkedIn profiles, company pages and directories as you browse are genuinely useful for manual, judgment-heavy prospecting — finding the right person at an account you're researching by hand. They're a poor foundation for volume list-building, and used carelessly they create real account-suspension risk on the platform you're browsing.
What these tools are actually good for
Good fit researching one account deeply, confirming a specific
person's current role and contact details, enriching
a shortlist you've already built by other means
Poor fit building a list of hundreds of contacts by scrolling
through search results and clicking "capture" on each
The manual, one-at-a-time nature of extension prospecting is a feature for account-based work and a bottleneck for volume work. Using it for the former is efficient; trying to force it into the latter either takes an unreasonable amount of time or tips into the automation patterns that get accounts flagged.
