Meeting No-Show Recovery
A no-show is rarely a rejection — it's much more often a scheduling conflict, a forgotten calendar entry, or genuine last-minute urgency that had nothing to do with interest level. The follow-up message that gets a no-show rescheduled treats it that way; the one that assumes rejection or, worse, guilt-trips the prospect for the missed time, tends to make rescheduling less likely rather than more.
Respond fast, and assume good faith
Weak silence, or a message sent days later implying the
prospect wasted your time — reads as either indifference
or, worse, passive-aggressive irritation
Strong a prompt, genuinely low-pressure message sent the same
day, assuming a reasonable explanation without demanding one
"Hi [name] — no worries if something came up, these things happen.
Want to grab a new time? Here's my calendar: [link]. Happy to work
around whatever's easiest."
