Voicemail Drop Strategy
Most cold-call voicemails go straight to the "delete without listening to the end" pile, because most are too long, too vague, and too obviously a sales pitch to earn the ten seconds of attention needed to hear the actual point. A short, specific, honestly-framed voicemail is a genuinely different experience for the listener and gets meaningfully more callbacks.
Length and structure that actually gets listened to
Weak a 45-second voicemail covering the full pitch, company
background and value proposition — abandoned partway
through by most listeners
Strong 15-20 seconds, one specific reason for the call, a clear
next step, repeated phone number
"Hi [name], it's [you] from [company]. Calling about [one specific,
concrete reason] — worth a quick callback if it's relevant, my
number's [number], that's [number] again. Thanks."
