Purpose

Add structured persistence to an Astro app: choose the database and query layer, wire it to the server runtime, migrate schemas, and keep queries safe and fast.

When to Use

Activate when the task involves:

• adding a database (Postgres, SQLite, etc.) to an Astro app
• choosing between an ORM, query builder, or raw SQL
• schema design and migrations
• database access from endpoints, actions, or middleware
• deployment of database-backed apps (connection pooling, serverless limits)
