Astro Native First

Purpose

This is the overriding architectural rule of the suite: before any dependency enters an Astro project, walk the native-first ladder. Every level of the ladder is checked before the next. The default answer is "native Astro" until proven otherwise.

When to Use

Activate whenever the task involves:

• proposing or installing any npm package
• choosing between a library and a native mechanism
• React/Vue/Svelte for something that might be HTML/CSS
• a client-side router, fetch layer, state library, or utility belt
• reviewing an existing dependency list
• an architecture discussion where a dependency is on the table
